Media’s new golden Goose

Miley, Miley, Miley!!! I mean Miley Cyrus. Media has been obsessing about everything she does for a while. She is the media’s new golden goose. Everything she wears/does creates a controversy to the extent even our oldie goldie Rush Limbaugh (conservative radio talk show host) has something to say about it. Just so you know I love Rush; “D” got me addicted to him. In a way maybe it is good because Miley gave us a breather from obsessing about what heels Kim Kardashian is wearing? (more…)

Vitamin D- Quick update on my previous post

This is just a quick update on “Do shades really matter?”

In the post, I wrote Indian girls/guys were told not to go out in the sun because the skin will become darker than it already is. The problem with this is, how are we going to get our vitamin D. In a country like in India where it feels likes summer all year long we assume we are getting enough vitamin D. That is not the case. Moreover, darker skin has more melanin, which protects us from UV damage but in doing so it decreases sunlight absorption leading to vitamin D deficiency. (more…)

Do the shades really matter?

Recently, I went to watch a Tollywood (Telugu) movie with my brother and his friends. It was almost an hour’s drive from my brother’s place. We grabbed a bite from a restaurant on our way to the movies. When we were eating, I had a crazy and frustrating conversation with my brother’s friend. Death for all four convicts in Delhi gang-rape case

I just found this post while I was browsing Indivine at IndiBlogger. I think the author put it together well and there is not much I would want to add to what she already said. Therefore, I decided to reblog her post. I am not sure, but I think this is the first time that justice has been served so swiftly in Indian Judicial system. Maybe India is changing and maybe not, but in respect to this particular incident, I think justice has been served at least to an extent. I say, “to an extent” because the fifth monster is getting away because he is a “minor.” (more…)

What do I stand for?

Before I write my next post, I want to clear few things first. I feel like maybe I was not clear enough in my previous post and misled my readers. I take total responsibility if I gave a wrong impression about what I stand for. I love “D” very much but my mom always comes first for me. “D” knows that, and he respects my sentiments. I am a strong believer of “mathru devobhava”- mother is God. My mom sacrificed a lot for me, more than anyone can ever imagine. I am who I am because of her. D loves me because of the person my mom molded me into. I cannot imagine even a single day of my life without my mom and D. I hope my readers understand this. (more…)

Today is the day…

The time to reveal what I am so excited about is finally here. Okay, the reason is I am adding a new page to my blog, and just not any new page but a new page with buttons to grab. Yes, buttons for you to grab, and post on your blog. (Provided you like and believe in them of course). This new page means a lot to me for several reasons. (more…)
